A vessel transporting boulders ran aground a reef near Olhahali Picnic Island. MNDF Male' Area Coast Guard is currently in the area.
The 75 foot fiber vessel was in the area unloading the boulders to the island, when the incident occurred.
MNDF informs that the incident occurred around 6:37 pm, and that there were two Maldivians and two foreigners on board at the time. MNDF also stated that an MNDF coast guard launch was deployed to the area with a Maritime Rescue Coordination's divers team upon receiving word of the incident.
No individual on board was injured during this accident.
