A cargo carrying vessel has sunk near Vaadhoo Resort. MNDF coast guard has begun operating in this area.
This incident occurred at around 7:23 this morning. There were two Maldivians and a foreigner on board at the time. They were picked up from sea by an Adaaran Vaadho Resort launch. All 3 remained unharmed.
Reports say that the 75 foot vessel sunk while transporting boulders from Villimale' to Maniyafushi.
MNDF says that the coast guard harbor craft 104 launch has been operating in the area with a team of coast guard divers. MNDF has advised travelers in the area to be cautious.
MNDF is currently trying to re float this vessel, named "Randhi".
