Child Abuse Prevention Society (CAPS) has launched a special campaign against bullying.

Former president Dr. Muhammad Waheed Hassan Manik and former Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon take part in the campaign that formally launched last Thursday.

CAPS say that this campaign will include trying to make children helpful towards one another, develop relations between children, work against bullying, try to discourage bullying and will try and explaining the adverse effects of bullying to children.

This campaign is set to be divided into 5 parts. The first is building billboards across Male' and the rest of the Atolls. The second part is promoting this campaign via TV and media. CAPS says the third step will be to educate school teachers and parents about bullying and the fourth would be educating the school children against bullying. The fifth and last step would be going to homes and giving information to the public and educating them.

While the problem of bullying is increasing day by day, it is important to teach children to be confident about themselves since an young age and to educate them about bullying.
