Maldives government Wednesday slashed fuel prices for fishermen from MVR8.40 per diesel litre to MVR8.
Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) would sell diesel at the revised price from Wednesday.
According to MIFCO which was converted to a subsidiary of State Trading Organization (STO) last month, the decision was to provide some relief to fisherman and boost the country's fishing industry.
