President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has officially opened the Fishermen Marina on Thursday developed at Kooddoo Fisheries Complex.
State Trading Organization's (STO) Managing Director Ahmed Shaheer praised current government claiming president Yameen's administration has pushed forward with the development of the fisheries industry in Maldives.
The Fishermen Marina is included among the pledges by Yameen's administration; which was promised during the 2013 presidential elections.
The marina is designed incorporating several facilities for serving fishermen. The marina includes tuck-shops to purchase daily goods and rental rooms.
Previously a similar marina was opened at Felivaru; MIFCO's canned fish manufacturing venue in Maldives.
