Youth awards have led to more role models: Minister

The national Youth Awards given out by the government are leading to a generation of smarter youth in the country, youth minister Iruthisham Adam said Wednesday.

The Minister said that these awards are creating more youth role models and the results are already evident.

"The results of the awards are evident, youth ambassadors have been emerged to become role models," the Minister said.

Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ali Zaki said that the purpose of the Youth Awards were to encourage the capable youngsters in every field.

"The purpose is to bring out the capable youth and to promote them in the future as well. The youth have to step up and take this chance, and they have to showcase their abilities," Zaki said.

Forty from a dozen categories are competing for the awards to be held on the 17th of this month.
