Maldives authorities are trying to repatriate the body of the tourist found dead inside a room at Halaveli Resort on Sunday.
Police said the body of 22 year old German national is still in the mortuary in the capital Male.
According to sources the body was heavily decomposed when it was discovered on Sunday evening.
Police said the investigation into the death was still ongoing.
