Mega Maldives had announced mass layoffs over the continued slide in Chinese tourists to the archipelago in September.
Due to reduction is total revenue, the airline had made 65 positions in the company redundant and put on hold replacing 50 positions that were due to be filled this year.
However, just two months after the layoffs, Mega Maldives' director of strategy and development Mifzal Ahmed told reporters Wednesday that the airline had already re-hired 80 percent of the staff.
"It gives me great pleasure to announce this development. We were forced to restructure then because we weren't able to add decent routes. But as we have commenced flights to Colombo and India, we have re-hired 80 percent of the staff we had let go," Mifzal explained.
Mifzal said the airline is now planning to hire even more staff next year.
"But as we are yet to finalize next year's plans we haven't decided on the number of staff we would hire," he added.
