Mega Maldives seeks tie up with Indian airline

Mega Maldives has expressed interest of entering in a partnership with an Indian Airline as the only private airline in the archipelago launched operations to the south Asian giant.

Mega Maldives CEO, George Weinmann was quoted in India's media saying that Mega Maldives was looking to form a partnership with an Indian carrier.

Weinmann however, said no decisions have yet been made but insisted there were many airlines suitable for such a partnership.

George also said that the airline is yet to decide whether the planned partnership would be on code share basis or on another arrangement.

Mega Maldives Airlines, which has just linked Delhi with Male by direct flights, has ambitious expansion plans to connect more Indian cities with the Maldives capital.

The private carrier will start direct flights between Mumbai and Male next month.
