A prisoner held in remand until the end of his trial has died while receiving treatment.
Maldives Correctional Services confirmed that the inmate who died while receiving treatment in state run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) was a man named Hussain Zareer.
It is unclear as of yet what he was being treated for. He was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning.
