The young man injured in a gang related stabbing late Sunday remains in critical condition, hospital officials said Monday.
The attack occurred near the Islamic University late Monday leaving the victim in critical condition.
The unidentified victim had undergone emergency surgery in the privately run ADK hospital but remains in critical condition, according to hospital officials.
Police have arrested 20 people in connection to the stabbing of an 18 year old in the capital Male.
Police have also seized three motorbikes reportedly used in the attack.
Hours after the attack, police had arrested eight suspects in connection to the stabbing, but later confirmed that the number of suspects taken into custody had risen to 20 after further investigation.
After months of relative calm, the latest stabbing came after an assault last week.
