An accident that occurred in Sri Lanka has claimed the lives of a Maldivian man and his child. The man who died in the accident has been identified as 29 year old Hassan Ali from Haa Dhaal Kulhudhuffushi island.
A family member told Avas on Wednesday that Hassan and his child had died in an accident that took place last Sunday, while the two were out for a ride.
The family have not shared any more details in relation to the accident. But it has been reported that Hassan's wife and younger child were also in the vehicle at the time of the accident but had survived.
Maldives foreign ministry said the accident had not been reported but was working to gather information.
Kulhudhuffushi Council also denied knowledge of the incident.
The Maldivian embassy in Sri Lanka has also not been informed of the accident.
