Police have reportedly launched an investigation into the drowning of a man in Gaaf Dhaal Atoll Nadellaa island.
Police confirmed that an investigation had been launched into the drowning of a man in a southern atoll. The incident occurred while two people were wading across the shallow lagoon separating Nadellaa and Rathafandhoo island.
The deceased is Mohamed Rasheed, aged 31 from Nadellaa.
The incident occurred after both had arrived on a nearby uninhabited island, late Tuesday.
The man accompanying Mohamed Rasheed has been identified named Solah Rasheed.
Mohamed Rasheed was already dead by the time his body was brought to the medical center. A police team have left for Nadellaa to investigate.
