BML introduces self service banking in Velidhoo

Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched self service banking in Noonu Atoll Velidhoo island. The self service ATM Velidhoo has now been opened to the public.

BML said in addition to the customary cash withdrawal service, the ATM would offer money transfer and cash depositing facilities round the clock.

The country's main bank said this ATM is part of the MVR 300 million effort to introduce banking to all corners of the Maldives.

"Today is a memorable day in the effort to establish banking systems all around the Maldives. The Bank's MVR 300 million investment is seeing such systems emerge all over the country. The ATM launched today will provide an additional boost to the development of Velidhoo," BML's Retail Banking Director Mohamed Shareef said.

BML has been establishing new branches and self service banking centers all around the Maldives. BML's effort includes 29 branches in 20 atolls along with 76 ATM's, 3900 POS Merchants, 191 Cash Agents, 16 self service banking centers and 5 'Dhoani' banking units.
