Top govt lawmaker gets knife threat

A top government lawmaker Riyaz Rasheed shared pictures on social media of a knife wedged on his front door which he says was not the first time he had received the threat.

In the tweet, the MP said that he would not be threatened by a knife left in his wall. The police have not yet been notified of this incident and Riyaz was unavailable for a further comment.

However, in another tweet, the Member said that this was the second death threat on Tuesday evening by adding that it was not the first time he was threatened with a knife.

Maldives Ports Limited had recently been ordered by the court to honor the agreements made with Rasheed's Meridiam company. MPL is now trying to overturn this sentence in a higher court.
