A young man has been stabbed in the stomach in Sh. Maaungoodhoo.
The police said the assault took place around 12:30 am early Wednesday.
According to Maaungoodhoo Council, the fight broke out between three youths. While two people were injured in the incident, one is in critical condition. He was initially taken to Maungoodhoo Hospital for treatment but has now been shifted to Kulhuhuffushi Regional Hospital due to the extent of his injuries.
One person has been arrested in connection with the stabbing. He has a criminal record for assault and drugs, the council said. The fight took place outside the arrested man's house, the council said.
