Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Fukang noted the China-Maldives relations as a perfect example of peaceful relations between a large and small nation.
At the event held at Hotel Jen in celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Ambassador stated that the 45 years of peaceful relations between China and Maldives displayed the fact that a large nation and small nation can coexist peacefully. He noted that the exemplary friendship between the two countries continues to flourish.
Fukang revealed that several colorful events would be held in celebration of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Maldives and China.
"The Maldivian Foreign Minister Asim, agreed in his recent visit to China to hold celebrations to mark this anniversary. We are sure that this will be written brightly in the history of both nations," the Ambassador said.
The Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr Mohamed Asim said the celebrations would not be limited just to the Maldives, but would be held in China as well.
