A man arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs to Fuvahmulak inside his boxer has been sentenced to life in prison.
The man was arrested after a packet containing 74 grams of drugs fell from his boxer shorts, when the police searched him at the airport terminal.
The sentence hearing revealed that Mohamed Manik, the man arrested had confessed to smuggling drugs in court and was handed a fine of 100,000 Maldivian Rufiyaa and was sentenced to life in prison.
