Maldives Customs has seized 1.1 kg of drugs that were being smuggled into the country through courier post.
According to Customs, the items were discovered upon further searching a parcel with suspicious contents on January 2. Initial testing identified the substances as synthetic cathinones.
The total weight of the seized drugs, including packaging, amounted to 1.132 kilograms. Customs said a 20-year-old individual who arrived to collect the parcel was handed over to the police for further investigation.
