The Bank of Maldives (BML) has donated MVR150,000 to the Care Society as part of its recently launched 'Aharenge Bank' (Our Bank) campaign.
BML said the donation was to aid Care Society's dedicated efforts to educating and working for the rights of children with disabilities.
Care Society said the funds would be used to obtain the resources needed to conduct a vocational training program, as well as to buy various equipment which will be used in the school.
There are currently 15 students studying in the Care Society, with additional students registered and completing the assessment. The Executive Director of the Care Society Naushan Muhaimin stated that teachers would visit homes in Male' and Atolls to assess students.
Students with Down syndrome, students with hearing loss and students with Cerebral syndrome are all part of the school. BML will be doing something beneficial for the society everyday for the current month as part of its recently launched campaign.
