The Bank of Maldives (BML) has placed three additional dollar ATMs in the capital Male. The three ATMs were placed near the Artificial Beach.
The Deputy CEO of BML, Mohamed Shareef said that the purpose of placing these ATMs were to ease the process of withdrawing dollars for bank clients who used dollar accounts.
"Many customers of the bank use dollar accounts. Many receive their incomes in dollars, and we see it as a great ease on them to directly withdraw the money from ATMs rather than go and wait in line at a counter," Shareef stated.
Two dollar ATMs currently provide service in the BML Head Office. Velana International Airport also houses a dollar ATM.
BML statistics reveal that 220 million dollars were withdrawn through ATMs in the previous year alone. BML informs that the ATMs under the Head Office will operate till the 25th of this month, with the ATMs switching to rufiyaa accounts after that.
