The Maldivian Ports Limited (MPL) has brought in ten cranes to further improve the level of service provided at the Maldives commercial harbour.
A company official said the new cranes would save the company from having to rent cranes from third parties for use at the port.
According to the same official, the speed of work on the port would greatly increase due to the new additions.
MPL has recently also brought in several heavy vehicles worth MVR140 million to speed up cargo clearance at the country's main port.
