Police have arrested a local man in connection to a case of sexual abuse of a 15 year old boy in Thaa Atoll Veymandoo island.
Police spokesperson said Sunday that a 44 year old man was arrested on Thursday under an arrest warrant. Thaa Atoll Madifushi Magistrate Court had remanded the suspect for 10 days.
Island residents had reported the case to the police.
Further information on the case has not been disclosed. A search for a Bangladeshi expat is ongoing, while a local man was arrested Sunday in two separate cases of sexual abuse.
