Dhiraagu to hold AGM on April 20

The largest Maldivian telecommunications company, Dhiraagu is set to hold its annual general meeting for the previous year on the 20th of this month.

The event will be held at the National Art Gallery, and will see the approval of final and full year dividends.

Last year had proved to be a fruitful year for the company in terms of profit, with MVR1.1 billion to be given out as dividends. Dhiraagu had seen a 16% rise in its profits for last year, with MVR840 million made as net profit.

According to company CEO Ismail Rasheed, the company has achieved unprecedented success with a good financial result. He said that a sustainable profit had been divided among shareholders for the past five years as well.

Dhiraagu had given MVR5.92 per share as an interim dividend to shareholders during the middle of last year, while MVR8.45 will be given per share for the profits gathered towards the end of the year. With a total of 14.37 given across both halves of the year, a total of MVR3.9 billion rufiyaa in profits will be distributed to shareholders of the company.
