A man trying to smuggle drugs into Lhaviyani Atoll Hinnavaru was nabbed by the police on Sunday.
According to the police, they had conducted an operation after receiving a tip that drugs were being smuggled into Hinnavaru and nabbed the 27 year old man, travelling from Malé, at a resort in Lhaviyani Atoll.
Police said that 11 rubber packets was discovered in his possession after the man was searched, adding that the drugs weighed 26 grams.
The man was brought into custody under the operation carried out by the police.
