A five-year-old boy was found in the harbour of Hulhudheli in Dhaalu atoll, the police revealed.
According to sources from the island, the boy’s name is Joodh Ahmed Shifaau, and he is the son of one of the island’s councillors.
The police said that the incident was reported late in the evening on Thursday, and the boy was dead when he was taken to the island’s health centre, where he was pronounced dead.
The boy’s house is located close to the harbour, the source had revealed.
The official cause of death has not been identified yet.
