The police on Friday, found over two-kilos of drugs in a house in Male.
The police revealed that they had raided a house named Snow Lily in Maafannu ward of the capital under a search warrant, and arrested a 40-year-old male from the scene.
The police said that they have officially begun investigating the case, however, no further details regarding the bust were revealed.
While two-kilos of drugs were found in the capital on Friday afternoon, the police had also seized over 31 smaller packets of drugs a 35-year-old male in nearby Maafushi Island on Friday evening.
Drug busts appear to be frequenting during the month of Ramadan with the Maldives Customs also catching a Bangladeshi expat who was attempting to smuggle seven-kilos of cannabis in to the Maldives on Wednesday.
Customs had searched the 26-year-old expat for appearing suspicious and found the drugs that were concealed in a plastic bowl that was taped shut and hidden in a box in the possession of the expat.
