Deputy controller of immigration transferred to deputy environment minister

In another shuffling of government posts, the former deputy controller of immigration Abdulla Algeen has been transferred to a deputy minister post at the environment ministry.

The president had made the decision on Sunday and no reason was cited for the move.

Agleen has a background in environmental sciences and he had worked as the head of the national meteorological centre for a long time previously.

While Agleen is now a deputy minister at the environment ministry, he also has a brother as a state minister at the same ministry.

Agleen and his brother are also siblings of the incumbent president.

The environment ministry has eight ministerial level positions – the ministry has three deputy ministers and five senior police executives.

In the latest reshuffle, State Electric Company (STELCO) managing director Abdul-Shukoor was removed from his post and replaced by the minister at the president’s office Ahmed Zuhoor.

Abdul-Shukoor then was appointed as a deputy minister at the environment ministry.
