A young man from the southernmost Addu City passed away late on Wednesday night after losing control of his motorbike and crashing.
Mugil Rasheed from Hithadhoo of Addu City was driving very fast on the main road of Hithadhoo, and crashed while trying to make a turn towards the end of the neighbouring Maradhoo-Feydhoo district’s main road, according to witnesses.
The incident occurred at around 1:30am on Wednesday night.
Reportedly Mugil had a passenger behind him, however, the he was mostly unharmed.
Witnesses also said that Mugail suffered traumatic injuries to his head and was heavily bleeding from his nose.
He was taken to the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital immediately, and was unresponsive even when he was taken to the hospital, the police revealed.
The police are currently investigating the incident.
Accidents on Addu’s link road occur quite frequently. There were two accidents in March, and one in late April of this year.
