The Maldives’ Tourism Ministry has reported that more than 62,000 beds are currently available for tourists across 1,242 establishments.
According to the ministry, the number of tourist beds in 1,242 tourist establishments is 62,690. These include 42,539 beds in 171 resorts, 15,161 beds in 902 guesthouses, 3,034 beds in 155 safaris, and 1,956 beds in 14 hotels. This is an increase from the 61,650 beds available in 1,145 establishments at the end of last year.
The Maldives has received 1.77 million tourists so far this year. This is a 7.7 percent increase over the same period last year.
China is the largest tourist source market for the Maldives, with over 246,500 tourists having visited the country thus far this year. Russia is the second largest tourist market, with 198,900 arrivals.
