President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom, on Wednesday, appointed deputy Attorney General.
Ahmed Hisham Wajeeh was appointed as deputy Attorney General.
Hisham had previously served as a Public Prosecutor in the Prosecutor General’s Office. He is also the son-in-law of ruling party Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM)’s deputy leader Abdul Raheem Abdulla.
Hisham has a reputation of prosecuting several high profile cases.
The post of assistant AG has been vacant for a year since lawyer Ismail Visham’s dismissal from the post.
