Ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Secretary General and Nilandhoo lawmaker Dr Abdulla Khaleel was admitted in hospital on Sunday after his health worsened.
A senior official of the PPM's Parliamentary Group told Avas that Khaleel was admitted at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) on Sunday night and had undergone a series of tests. However, the official refused to comment on the exact nature of Khaleel's condition.
Several members of PPM leadership and lawmakers visited IGMH to give their well wishes to Dr. Khaleel.
While Khaleel has been admitted with a serious health issue, PPM deputy leader and Fonadhoo lawmaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla was admitted over chest pain the day before.
