Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) states the current torrential rain experienced in Maldives will last until Tuesday next week.
A weather forecaster from the MET Office confirmed it will be rainy and windy lasting until Tuesday next week. Although wind speeds are believed to pick up, heavy rain is expected to reduce to drizzling.
The meteorological center confirms that Maldives will experience heavy rain with strong gushes for the next 24 hours. Seas are expected to be rough, thus the center advised travelers and vessel operators to take precaution prior to travel.
The Western-Hemisphere monsoon has recently picked its strength resulting in heavy rainfalls experienced in several islands across Maldives. Baa Atoll Dharavandhoo experienced 127 millimeters of rain. Wind speed was registered around 47 to 50 miles per hour. Haa Dhaal Atoll Hanimaadhoo recorded 52 millimeter of rain.
