China's Lucky Air fares to commence in Maldives

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) confirms China's budget airline "Lucky Air" is set to commence its flights to Maldives.

MACL's Managing Director Adil Moosa was quoted by Public Service Media (PSM) that the flights will officially commence in January between Maldives and Kunming, China.

The Kunming based airline is a daughter company of Hainan Airlines, established in 2006 with a current fleet size of 38 aircraft with flights to 60 of Chinese destinations.

State government has confirmed several new airlines will commence its flights by next year. While Lucky Air is belted to commence flights in January, 2018, state has also informed Air France will come to Maldives somewhere in 2018.

As of now the highest tourist market, China has flights from Maldives by its national airline Maldivian. Maldivian Airlines travels to six of China's destinations.
