An automobile used as official transport under a government entity was seemingly torched early hours of Monday morning.
Still undeclared a definite arson, the automobile was reported to have erupted in flames around 03:03hrs on Monday morning, according to Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF). The authority confirms the blaze was extinguished 13 minutes later.
The automobile was parked at Janavaree Magu, Henveiru district when the fire struck the vehicle. MNDF confirms the rear seats, doors as well as the window panels on rear and doors were damaged beyond repair while the seats were burnt sustaining heavy damage.
While the incident had not accounted for any injuries or casualties, authorities have commenced investigation on the matter.
