A group of people barged into a government school in the capital Male and assaulted a student on Tuesday.
Police said the group forced into Thaajuddeen School and attacked the student around 12.30pm on Tuesday.
The injured student was rushed to the state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), police said.
The extent of the injuries however remains unclear.
Details of the attack remain sketchy but AVAS understands that the victim was a 10 grader at the school.
