Student injured in assault released from hospital

The student injured after an assault in a government school in the capital Male was released from hospital on Wednesday.

Police said a group had forced into Thaajuddeen School and attacked the grade 10 student around 12.30pm on Tuesday.

The injured student was rushed to the state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), police said.

A hospital official told AVAS that the 15 year old victim had suffered a laceration to the side of the head and has been released after treatment.

Police said one person has been taken into custody over the incident.
