Three practicing lawyers who found their permits on temporary suspension due to filing petition at Supreme Court had revokes to the order on Wednesday.
Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has declared the suspension orders were revoked on the licenses of advocates Shashma Abdul Razzaq, Shahra Moosa and Ali Zahir.
The DJA statement read the advocates were once again granted permission for practicing post investigation related to them with regards to the Supreme Court petition incident.
A group of 54 practicing lawyers had signed on a petition requesting amendments to the judiciary system and sent it to the top-court of Maldives. Following this incident the lawyers who took part in the petition were slammed with temporary suspension orders on September 10, 2017.
Several lawyers who found their licenses on temporary suspension had been granted revokes on these orders. These had included Hisan Hassan and Ibrahim Riffath, representing lawyers of Jumhooree Party leader Qasim Ibrahim.
