Maldives police have launched an investigation into an apparent suicide in Haa Dhaal Atoll Nolhivaram on Friday morning.
A Nolhivaram born woman now identified as Shahida Ali was found hanging in the outhouse of her home in the island early Friday.
Police spokesperson said the investigation had team found the apparent suicide "suspicious" and was now trying to bring the body to the capital Male for further investigation.
Before her death, the woman had reportedly gone missing a few weeks ago but was later found in the woods. Police have reportedly close off the area surrounding the victim's home.
