The former defense minister Colonel (retired) Mohamed Nazim was brought to the capital city for medical attention and was consulted at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The retired army Colonel was arrested during incumbent president Abdulla Yameen's administration for weapons possession. He was convicted and found guilty of terrorism by local courts and was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
The information officer Ahmed Lugman of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has confirmed that the former defense minister was brought to Male' on Monday morning and received doctor's consultation at government the hospital; IGMH.
Colonel (retired) Nazim's terrorism charge was convicted on him and supported by the appellate and top-court of Maldives.
