A police recruit who fell sick while attending the Maldives Police training academy at Dhaal atoll Vaanee has died en-route to Male' for medical attention.
According to police media official Ahmed Shifan the male officer had fallen ill while in training at the facility and was immediately transferred to Dhaal Atoll Hospital at Kudahuvadhoo. He passed away while he was being transported to Male' for further medical attention which was advised by the island's hospital.
Though the cause of death has not been confirmed, Shifan assured further details related to the case will be disclosed at a later date.
The deceased police recruit was brought to the capital city sometime on Sunday night.
