The authorities and islanders of Vilimale' - considered the fifth district of the capital - have commenced the search and possible rescue of a missing elderly man from the island.
According to Maldives Police a male Vilimale' resident, aged 51 years was reported missing around 13:30hrs on Saturday afternoon. Authorities confirm that despite attempts at searching him, the missing individual has not been found yet.
The missing man has been identified as Ibrahim Khaleel, 51, born at Thaa atoll Thimarafushi.
Khaleel was last spotted at a cafe' in Vilimale' according to a friend of his while authorities also claim with reference to his acquaintances that he did not have any noticeable health issues.
