The outer most road - named Boduthakurufaanu Magu - is currently undergoing a major 'overhaul' with its structure getting amended for a possible 4-lane bridge-conjoiner.
Several accompanying structures on the east-end and the south-end of the capital - which lies across or on Boduthakurufaanu Magu - has been stripped down to expand the traveling area. Government ministries and authorities alike have restricted vehicle parking in these areas due to the re-construction work underway.
According to an announcement from Housing Ministry on Saturday has officially restricted vehicle parking from Marry Brown vicinity - southwest area of Male' - all the way to Hulhumale' ferry terminal as the section of the road between these two venues is expected to receive a major construction revamp prior to the bridge's opening.
While the ministry has restricted vehicle parking in these zones, it had assured the road construction would conclude before the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge is completed.
Parameter walls of Henveiru artificial beach has already been stripped down with the stage section completely demolished while several of the vegetation in the area has been removed with the promise of more trees to be planted elsewhere.
