A local officer of Maldives Police Service has received applaud and respect from the local community for his act of compassion and servitude.
On Tuesday a mother of an ailing 4 year old was stuck in the taxi she was traveling; to ADK Hospital to get her child for emergency medical attention, due to heavy traffic. Her infant had a seizure attack which could prove fatal if proper medical attention is not given in time.
The mother wrote on her Facebook wall, praising the act of compassion and empathy. As Fathimath Shifna, the trouble-struck mother, wrote that her cries of help from the passing by traffic police officer was heard without a hesitance as the officer, Mohamed Rifaau hurried past the traffic while carrying the 4 year old child on his shoulder towards the hospital.
She had expressed her deepest gratitude to the 'super-hero' who happened to have crossed paths at the 'right time.' The glad mother shared her praise in a lengthy caption with a picture of the officer posted below.
Lance Corporal Mohamed Rifaau of the Traffic Management department of Maldives Police Service has been showered with love, respect and gratitude from the people of Maldives as the post went viral of social platforms.
Many have dubbed him a 'super-hero' while others claim Rifaau as the ideal police officer fulfilling his duty true to the authority's 'to protect and serve' slogan.
