Petrol and diesel sold through State Trading Organization (STO) is expected to increase on Monday with additional 31 Laari added to the current sale prices.
The prime importer of oil to Maldives, STO in their press statement contributed the bump of oil prices to the rising crude oil values in international market.
With the new price addition price for diesel liters off filling stations and supply vehicles have reached MVR 10.72 per liter. Petrol price has similarly increased to MVR 10.42 per liter.
Oil prices hiked the last during April 2018 when STO announced they were adding an additional 20 Laari to then existing sale prices.
Crude oil in the international market is currently sold to USD 69.72.
