Former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom's son and Dhiggaru constituency lawmaker Ahmed Faris Maumoon will be summoned to court at 11:00hrs on Monday as his trial of character impersonation has been put on schedule.
The politician is currently in jail over multiple charges and awaits ongoing trials which still have yet to see a sentence hearing on them.
Faris Maumoon is prosecuted for the illegal use of ruling Progressive Party of Maldives' (PPM) banners and logo without the party's permission.
Should the lawmaker gets convicted of the crime he will be looking at a nine months and 18 days serve time at jail.
Additionally Faris is charged with bribing parliamentarians during the no-confidence motion of parliament Speaker Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed.
