Maldives inflation drops by 0.35% in May

National Bureau of Statistics has confirmed Maldives inflation rate in May 2018 has dropped by 0.35 percent.

According to the bureau the drop is a total 1.69% drop from previous rate.

Fish prices dropped down during the month of May, with a rate of 3.29% on average and gas (cooking) price dropped to 8.23% in the same period. Cheese and egg prices dropped by 0.53% and decor item rates fell by 1.78 percent.

Rent prices on accommodation had however increased by 0.30% during May while vegetable prices on the whole had gone up by 1.59% and airline fares had increased by 4.11 percent.

Oil and lubricant prices have gone up by 4.52% during the month of May as well.
