Authorities have a launched a search for a young man who has been missing in Alif Dhaal Atoll Fenfushi island since Sunday.
Coastguard along with the police are searching for the 29 year old man, now identified as Adnan.
Fenfushi council president Shahid Abdul Rahman told AVAS said the family had filed a missing persons report on Sunday afternoon. But the family is unsure when Adnan had gone missing.
A dinghy is also missing from the island's harbour leading authorities to believe that Adnan might have taken the dinghy out to sea. The missing dinghy meanwhile has been found near neighbouring Mahibadhoo island.
According to sources, Adnan was last seen on Saturday evening. Coastguard has urged the public to come forward with any information related to the missing man.
