Maldives president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Tuesday afternoon has officially concluded the sewerage system project at Meemu atoll Mulah.
State owned water company Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) was tasked with installing the sewerage network at the island. The project is valued at MVR 43,941,179.77 according to Maldives government.
Work on the project commenced back in January 18, 2017 and concluded by February earlier this year.
The project resulted in a 10.44 kilometer sewerage network installation with four pump-stations built. The finished network will be provided to the 374 residences in the island. A 41 meter out-flow pipe has been installed as well to drain wastage from the island's residences.
President Abdulla Yameen was accompanied by some of the cabinet ministers in his trip to selected islands of Meemu atoll.
