Maldives issues warning over Listeria contaminated frozen veggies

Maldives' Food and Drug Authority (FDA) on Monday warned the public to be vigilant against frozen vegetable products over the risk of contamination by the Listeria bacterium.

Frozen vegetable products have been recalled from several countries due to concerns they may be contaminated with listeria.

FDA in a statement warned that several brands of frozen vegetable products could be contaminated.

The symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea.
